Old Florentine Stitch is a great background stitch. It is made up of pairs of vertical straight stitches that span over two and over six canvas threads.Â
Byzantine #5 Stitch
Byzantine Stitch produces a diagonal zigzag canvas. You will need a large area to support a stitch this large and busy.Â
Cashmere Stitch
Cashmere Stitch- Vertical is made up of tent stitches and diagonal stitches over two. This stitch makes an upright rectangle in the canvas.Â
