Why we think Essentials is... essential!
There's a relatively new thread on the market that we can't seem to get enough of here at KC Needlepoint. It's called Essentials! The name of this thread couldn't be more fitting. We agree that it's a stitching "essential" and we know you will too!

Essentials is made by a company called Planet Earth. They also make some of our other favorite threads: Pepper Pot Silk and Planet Earth Silk

Essentials is a 50/50 wool/silk blend that comes on a tiny white card. Essentials is really designed for use on 18 count canvas. It’s only $2.85 for a 10 yard card. This means, it's a fabulous choice for any of those tiny color areas where you don't want to spend a ton of money on a full skein of thread.

If you've ever worked with Pepper Pot Silk, Essentials is just a little bit thinner. It is also a "single strand" thread, so when you work with it, you stitch with one thread at a time. There's no plying necessary- so it's very "new stitcher"-friendly! Essentials has a lovely soft texture that makes it delightful to stitch with. You’ll definitely want to try it out on your next canvas.

Due to its popularity, Planet Earth just shared that they are introducing Essentials Skeins! We couldn't be more excited for the announcement. You'll now be able to get Essentials in 30 yard skeins for larger areas on your canvas.
They’re now available on our website here.

What are you waiting for? Try Planet Earth Essentials out on your next project. It’s sure to become one of your favorite threads, too.
