Vertical Lines and Crosses is a must know stitch!
It works particularly well for backgrounds. As an added bonus, this stitch is really a two for one! Rotate the diagram 90 degrees, so that the vertical lines become horizontal lines!
This stitch is made up of Cross Stitches that span over two intersections and vertical straight stitches that span over four canvas threads.
