Stitch to support Hearts for Hospice
Back in 2015, members of the Greater Kansas City Needlepoint Guild began a project to fulfill a need at a local hospice center. Hearts are placed on the door of any resident who has recently passed away. This alerts anyone who passes by to be respectful of those mourning the death of their loved one. The heart is then given to the family member to be taken home in remembrance of their loved one.
These hearts are delivered to four hospice centers in Kansas City, including one pediatric center and one that takes care of Veterans. Red, white and blue hearts are being sent to the Veterans. Since 2017 over 3000 needlepoint hearts have been delivered!
