If you're hitting the road soon, you won't want to miss our tips for traveling with your needlepoint. It's no surprise you're planning to bring your stitching on vacation, as needlepointing is a fantastic way to relax and decompress! Today on the blog, get our favorite tips to make the journey smoother!

1. Bring a small project.

Stockings, advent calendars and big pillows are wonderful projects to undertake, however, they might not be the easiest to travel with! Opt for a smaller, more portable design that doesn't take up too much space. We recommend a small canvas like an ornament or key fob, or something compact that can be rolled up- like a belt.

2. Keep it organized.

We can't get enough of our new mesh logo bags. The handles make it easy to grab your project on the go, plus they will keep your supplies organized and your work protected. Preplan your project and precut your threads so you know that when you grab your bag, everything you need will be ready for you to stitch.

3. Use a needle minder.

There is nothing worse than losing your needle while you're stitching on the go! A needle minder is an easy way to help keep track of it when it's stored away. Plus, make sure you pack extras in case it does get lost.

4. Try a 13 mesh design.

If you're stitching on the go, 13 mesh might be your friend! Often times you don't have control over how good the lighting is in a hotel room or on a plane. 13 count's larger holes are easier to see when you don't have your good stitching light from home.

5. Pack a travel lamp.

To that point, pack a small portable light. It will make stitching so much easier! We can't get enough of our neck lamps. They hang around your neck while you are stitching and keep your hands free. Neck lamps help you to see your stitches clearly without bothering those around you!
