Learn 21 stitches in 2021
When the pandemic began, it became obvious that we would all be spending more time indoors at home. With all this free time on our hands, brand new needlepointers set out to learn a new hobby and lifelong needlepointers worked through their stash. Stitchers all over the country took comfort in their needlepoint projects.
Social media became even more prominent as we all holed up at home (canvas and thread in hand) and the team at KC Needlepoint loved following along as you all posted your “works in progress” to Instagram and Facebook. We were so captivated by all your finishes last year, even more impressed with the many stitchers completing a full “20 projects in 2020.” The #ndlpt20in20 was a source of inspiration for all and was the perfect setup for the New Year’s #2021stitchchallenge!
By the end of 2020 Instagram stitchers had spoken and the 2021 goal became learning 21 new stitches in 2021. The ever brilliant Sara from SCT Designs came to KC Needlepoint with the idea to start a modern day sampler that would be fun as both an introduction to decorative stitches and a way for advanced stitchers to brush up on their fancy stitches. And with that our #2021stitchchallenge kit was born!
This exclusive collaboration is the perfect way to break out of basketweave and practice decorative stitches. By the end of the 21 stitches you’ll have newfound familiarity and confidence approaching stitch guides and reading diagrams. Rather than just working on scratch canvas, Sara helped us design a charming gingham magnolia pattern, so that you have a beautiful, finished sampler to display in your home.
This project is available in a selection of three color ways: blue, yellow, and black. Click here to check it out. With the delays in painting services that the industry has experienced as a result of Covid-19, this is a counted, charted project that is worked on brown canvas. Order the kit today and you’ll get to play around with a variety of our very favorite threads. To make sure you’re able to complete your project with ease, you’ll also get to join our Instagram support group, where you’ll be able to ask questions and get help from expert KC Needlepoint staff, when you purchase your kit from us!
Even if you’re not joining us to stitch this project, make sure you follow us on Instagram as each week Brigid shares a new decorative stitch video to our account. You’ll learn staff favorites like Criss Cross Hungarian Stitch, Milanese Stitch, Byzantine Stitch and so many more! Feel free to work through the project at your own pace. Stitch ahead if you're comfortable with the stitch using the stitch guide included or wait for our weekly tutorials to be released for an extra helping hand.
We’ve just finished assembling a brand new batch of 21 in 21 kits. If you haven’t ordered yours yet, it’s not too late to join in the fun!
We can’t wait for you to stitch with us!
