KC Needlepoint Diaper Drive for HappyBottoms

We are delighted to share that KC Needlepoint is taking donations of diapers for Happy Bottoms. 

One in three families do not have enough diapers to keep their child clean, dry and healthy. HappyBottoms wants to change that. Since 2009, Happy Bottoms has been covering the amount of diapers a family is short each month, known as the diaper gap, in the Kansas City Metro Area. Diapers can cost over $100 per child per month, 10% or more of some low-income families’ budgets. Families living in the urban core without access to big box or warehouse stores must pay a premium at their corner store or local market. Programs like food stamps and Medicaid don’t cover diapers, which makes the work that HappyBottoms does all the more vital within our community. Amethyst Place, where several of our employees have come from, is one of the main recipients of diapers from HappyBottoms.

During the month of November, bring a package of new diapers into the shop to be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift card. We will draw a new winner each week! HappyBottoms is particularly in need of size 4, 5 and 6 diapers.
